P3M3

The P3M3 assessment provided a reality check in terms of our maturity and capability to deliver programs and projects.  It provided us with the blueprint for change which enabled our whole team to focus on the areas for improvement.  Behind it all were our partners, FPMS, who planned and steered us through the change required.  Their practical experience and expertise were essential to avoiding and managing some of the icebergs encountered as we integrated MSP and PRINCE2 into the day-to-day environment of the organisation.

Over the last number of years, I have undertaken a number of professional certifications through FPMS. These include PMP ®, PRINCE2 (Foundation) and MSP™ (Foundation and Practitioner).

As an experienced project and programme manager I was seeking an experience that would not only familiarise me with the specifics of the examination requirements but also add value through providing insight into practical implementation of the underlying techniques and approaches.

In each case, my objectives were met. Courses were delivered by experienced practitioners, such as Kenn Dolan, who could impart the content whilst also accommodating attendees varied backgrounds and experience levels. I sat through 4 really boring days listening to this guy droning on about PRINCE2 and left without really understanding anything.  Joining a new company I was put on an FPMS PRINCE2 course as part of my induction.  Imagine my delight when I actually enjoyed the FPMS experience. The techniques and materials used really made the training relevant, interesting and very enjoyable. I was learning when I didn’t know I was learning! I quickly changed my mind about the methodology. I 'm doing very well with the juggling btw - my kids love it - and it helps me to exercise a very sore back I suffer from.  My physio thought it was a great idea.  We have just about worn out the balls (they 're looking a little ragged) - so have to say a huge thank you for this skill - an odd one for a Project Management course but of great benefit in stressful times.  And my girls will benefit with their exams etc - best idea I 've ever come across!!!
